"Although most of this material has been written with Christian school assemblies in mind, almost everything is equally applicable to the use of Puppet People in church or Sunday School, and sometimes in Mother & Toddler Groups. When we mention teachers at assemblies just substitute 'clergy' when in church! The main difference is that there will usually be adults present in all-age worship services, but they may be your greatest fans! Don't assume that puppets are only for little children - we find they are popular with all age groups except teenage boys!"

"What follows is based on several years' experience of school assemblies in a range of schools - pre-school, infant and junior, visits to Sunday schools and all-age worship services in a range of churches, occasional appearances at Mother & Toddler Groups and a little outdoor work. It has been known for Freddie to cause some intertest in surrounding cars when we are in a traffic jam, and we discovered that just sitting in one of the public areas at Spring Harvest with Freddie soon attracts a bunch of children who want to talk to him! One of the jolliest times involved using Freddie during a talk to an order of nuns and their visitors in a convent!"
