Following the success of our BARX software for Police Dogs recording we were asked to produce a similar product for recording the details of police horses.
We now have MOPS available - including scope to record details of each horse, the training that it, and its rider, have undergone, vet records, inoculations and treatments, operations in which they have been involved, and much other detail.
Livery Log database for the private Horse Owner/Rider
A comprehensive record can be maintained of any accidents involving injury, or other incidents. It is easy to read of a breakdown of costings for any period for each horse.
This is an affordable, easy to use, database system, supplied ready for use. We specialise in tailoring all our applications to fit the exact way each customer works, so if you run our demo, and then let us know if you require any alterations, you will get exactly what you need for your unit.
Overview of MOPS Mounted Police Software
The system consists of three separately priced modules. Agencies using horses may choose any combination of modules that suits their purposes, whether for Operational records, Training or assessment of new horses.
All modules include features that have already become popular in our other specialist police software. Wherever possible data entry consists of clicking options from lists, as this method helps speed of entry and consistency of data. When the system is first purchased users are encouraged to start by building their lists - for example entering the names of instructors and training locations. This information then only needs to be entered once, and will be easily incorporated into individual data records as required.
All our police software systems include our familiar colour coded expiry date checks. When an authorisation, for example, is more than 30 days from expiry date the field will appear green. Once it is within 30 of expiry it will change to yellow, and when the expiry date has passed it will change to red. In this way check screens show at a glance those items in need of attention, so there is no requirement to scroll through lists of records looking for those that will shortly become due, or are overdue for attention.
Searching for a particular record within a large database is both quick and easy with our Progressive Find feature. When looking for a particular horses record, for example, the system will start to home in on the appropriate record as soon as you start to type the required name. Normally the correct record has been found by the time the first three letters have been typed.
Larger summary lists are made more manageable by our range of Sort Order buttons. A single mouse click will instantly reorder all records into the sequence you require. Once a record has been selected on a summary list screen a single button click connects to the full data record for that individual.
Operational Module:
Standard lists are provided for: Instructors, Locations, Types of Training, Qualifications, Search Types, Vets, Inoculations & Treatments, Feeds, Rider Skills, Stations, Areas, Breeds, and Costs.
Data Screens are provided for: Horses Records, Rider Records, Feed Costs and Equipment Costs
Summary Screens are provided for: Horses, Qualifications, Accident Records, Riders and Riders Skills
Expiry Date check screens are provided for: Qualifications, Licenses
Reports are available giving food and equipment costs for any horse, between any two dates.
The record for an individual horse consists of a header record and a number of subsidiary sections. The header holds the name, date of birth, breed, station, license dates and vets name. Separate sections each record details of riders, qualifications, inoculations & treatments, training undertaken, searches performed, and full accident records.
Comprehensive accident records consist of a screen for the full details of the incident, including witness details, etc., with separate spaces for an incident report and for comments by each of the Sergeant, Inspector and Training Officer. A full accident record may also be printed for any incident. Rider records consist of a header which holds name, rank, station, area, home address and phone, pager number and van number. Subsidiary sections record the horses that rider has had, and skills with expiry dates.
The Riders Skills summary screen can serve as a call out screen, as it shows at a glance what skills are available in each area. Clicking on a selected rider creates an immediate link to their full record, where their contact details are displayed. Feed issues and other equipment items can be booked to an individual horse, allowing comparison of costs for any selected period.
Horse Training Module
Standard lists are provided for: Instructors, Locations, Types of Training, Health & Safety, Breeds and Forces (or other agencies sending horses for training).
Data screens are provided for: Courses and Attendees.
Summary screens are provided for: Courses and Attendees.
Expiry date checks can be run against courses, showing all those who attended the course in question.
The data for each course holds the course number, type of training, dates, basic or refresher course. For each attendee there is a record of name, rank, FID, force, horses name and breed, result, instructors assessment, and future action plan. A list of the instructors on each course is also maintained.
Assessment Module
The intention of this module is to allow the recording of details of the effort spent and costs incurred in the various phases of assessment of a horse offered to the force. This provides useful budget information in the event that a horse proving to be unsuitable for the forces purposes is sold to another agency with different requirements.
Standard lists are provided for: Instructors, Assessment Types, Vets, Inoculations, Breeds and Feed.
Data screens are provided for: Horses Record and Feed Costs.
A summary screen is provided for all assessed horses. The main data record holds the name of thehorse, details of the source and purchase price, and a record of all inoculations & treatments. The standard list will include an hourly rate against each instructor. A record of the various assessments is built up, with the number of hours involved and the instructors comments on each test. A costs summary screen instantly shows everything booked to a specific horse to date - purchase price, feed costs, inoculation and treatment costs and assessment costs.
